Licenced drivers

Once we have been driving solo for a few years, we may have gotten out of some healthy driving habits into some not so safe habits. When was the last time you checked you blindspot? Do you always stay at or under the speed limit? Do you accelerate through yellow lights because you couldn’t stop in time?

Many of us are so busy, we often forget to be mindful when driving. But if we put in a bit of effort, we can be naturally performing healthy driving habits without even thinking about it! It will require you to think more about what you do behind the wheel, at least while you are still acquiring these healthy habits. After some dedicated practice, it will become automatic, and you will become a more confident driver.

By listening to the podcast, and reading this information, you have taken he first step to become a more confident and safer driver!

There is stigma when it comes to driving lessons for licenced drivers. Many people will never think about getting professional lessons, even though they would really like the advice.

The reason people don’t want help with driving, is because we think it’s a skill we acquired when we first passed the test, and now we don’t need to do anything else. If we keep making mistakes, we just accept it, or if we still can’t park the car easily, we learn to work around that problem, instead of getting training to solve the problem.

So why the shame for licenced drivers when having lessons? Our family and friends could tease us for getting lessons, why? They expect us to just carry on and muddle through the situations we are not confident with, because most adults drive and it’s just part of our life – like cooking. Yet, we have no problem signing up for cooking lessons if we’re not great cooks!

You are one of the reasons I recorded this podcast – to give you the privacy to become more confident behind the wheel, and at your own pace.

You will have the extra challenge of changing old habits into new ones, but the effort will definitely be worth it. So be willing to listen to the lessons more than once, be ready to do the mindful practice, and you will feel so much more confident.

By taking the first step and listening to the full lesson episodes, you can get the knowledge to upskill your driving, and show our family and friends that more education (in anything) is worth it.

Easy the best driving instructor around, giving clear and gentle directions, continually moving forward in progressing driving skills. I’ve had many different driving instructors before they can be way to harsh and demanding during driving lessons and it just causes panic and just a faul sense when it comes to driving, but with Liz it’s the most controlled and most fun driving lessons I’ve had.
